Eyebrow threading: shout out to my first love

Eyebrow Threading Threading was the first form of art I learned in the esthetic world. Brows were important to me and I made it a point to learn the shape, the curves of one’s face, and how each shape can change a person's whole look. When I was learning, every friend or family member was attacked with thread! I would ask to thread their arms, legs — anything to get the grip and form of lifting hair with thread. Mistakes were made, and thankfully they were learned from. Otherwise, how else does one grow?! Hair removal started out in ancient Egypt by the use of honey and other natural remedies. Waxing strips weren't introduced to the world until the 1960s. Since its debut, it has been the known option to go about semi-permanent hair removal. Eyebrow threading was introduced over 2 decades later to the U.S. by Asian migrants and gradually gained traction among the beauty world. Although, it has been around for for a while, many resort to waxing simply because it is what they're used to and are not looking for change. Threading is a change for the better. Not only is the artist able to get more precision with the eyebrows but it doesn't take off multiple layers of your skin. It is the preferred form of hair removal by many medical professionals as it can't scar and peel the skin from chemicals used on the face, such as retinol or any acne medication. Threading is a fast paced version of plucking your own hairs, but you're getting much more than just one hair. Yes, it does hurt and degrees of pain vary among each person so no one person’s pain is the same as the other. Some don't think it's painful at all, and in fact it can even be relaxing (hehe, me). There are many ways of trying to avoid such pain: 1. Buy over the counter pain medication and apply it 15 to 20 minutes before you receive your service. Make sure it's safe for your skin. 2. Decrease or eliminate caffeine before you come in as that can heighten your pain threshold. 3. Avoid coming in on your period. Your body is already working in overdrive to regulate so you’re more prone to pain and moodiness, ain't nobody got time for that! 4. I do have some clients that take a pain reliever, such as Advil, 30 minutes before coming in for their service and they say it helps. I believe in you and know you love yourself enough to choose what's best for you. I look forward to seeing you!
