How Long Does Microblading Last? Explaining the Longevity of Various Beauty Treatments

One of the first questions that’s asked by many of our clients is how long their treatment is: how long does microblading last? How long does lash lifting last? How long does [X treatment] last? Not only does this help clients set their expectations for the treatment, but it also helps clients choose which option is best for them. Some people don’t mind coming in monthly to get their eyelashes or brows touched up to perfection. Others want their treatment to last as long as possible to reduce the time and money they’re spending. And some are simply curious! So whichever category you fall into, keep reading. We’re going over some of our most popular services and how long they last.

How Long Does Microblading Last?

In general, microblading is one of the longest-lasting beauty treatments out there with a lifespan between 6 months and 2 years! The length of time that it “lasts” depends on a number of variables, including your skin type, how well you take care of your brows, how well you follow post-treatment instructions, the type of pigment used, your skin tone, as well as the climate around you! For example, Houston microblading clients might find themselves needing touch-ups more often thanks to increased sweat and oil production under the hot Houston sun. Yes, you read that right: microblading will require touch-ups in order to stay looking clean and fresh. Compared to other options, though, microblading requires only a few touch-ups per year, making it one of the most sustainable options. As our owner Jennifer Ngo says, “microblading aligns well with the concept of sustainable beauty since touch-ups are only usually needed once or twice per year.” She also emphasizes that permanent options aren’t always best. “It's also nice to have semi-permanent brows with microblading,” says Jenn, “so you're not tied into one brow style as eyebrow trends change!”

How Long Does a Lash Lift Last?

A lash lift can last anywhere between three to six weeks. As with microblading, lash lift longevity (say that five times fast) will vary from person to person and even salon to salon. Genetics, your eyelash growth cycle, and the general maintenance of your lash lift will all affect the longevity of your lashes. Most clients here at Chic Lash Boutique come in every month or so to have their lash lift touched up.

How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Last?

Eyelash extensions last between six to eight weeks. Also like a lash lift, we would also suggest coming in for lash maintenance once every three to four weeks in order to keep your extensions looking full and voluminous as they naturally fall out over time.

How Long Does Brow Lamination Last?

Brow lamination is similar to a lash lift, but it’s for your brows! Brow lamination gives you voluminous and “fluffy” looking brows with a perfect shape for your unique & beautiful face.
