Spring is upon us, which means that many of us are getting ready for spring cleaning. Why not take this time to freshen up your spring looks as well? Spring is the perfect time to switch up your makeup, hair, brows, lashes, and style. It’s the time when things are in bloom, people are emerging from the winter slump, and everyone’s ready to feel fresh and bright. Let’s look at a few of our tips that can help you create the best spring looks to brighten up your days.
Makeup: Go Lighter and Brighter!
After winter, a season ruled by deep reds, maroons, and dark & bold makeup looks, it’s time to do the opposite! Spring looks are best with lighter and brighter looks. Go for a bright highlighter with some peachy-pink blush to freshen up the face. Go light on eyeliner and mascara: just enough to give definition. Lip color can vary, but we love corals, pinks, and even just a nude shine to complement the fresh feeling of spring. Clothes: Get Some New Staples
“Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.” We’ve all heard that well-known line from The Devil Wears Prada, and it’s definitely the truth! While florals aren’t groundbreaking for spring, you can never go wrong with a nice floral top and accessories during this season. We also recommend treating yourself to a few new staples. Staples like white t-shirts, sandals, light wash jeans, and thinner blouses & sweaters can wear out with use and start to look their age. Start this season off fresh with crisp and clean staples that will serve as the base for all of your outfits. We also understand if you want your spring looks to align with the latest trends. Some of the latest spring clothing trends for 2020 include bold and bright colors (that will pair perfectly with staples and your softer makeup looks), a resurgence of 70s-style collars, and crocheted shirts & dresses. As you can imagine, the opposite is somewhat true during the spring. Bold and dark brows and lashes can overpower softer and lighter spring looks. Try softening both the color and the intensity of the shape as we move into spring in order to better align with the rest of your style. For your lashes, we recommend steering clear of making them too dark. But, you do want them to appear full and voluminous no matter the season!
