During these searches, we often find festivals, events, and conventions that we know our clients would absolutely love. Now that the winter is finally winding down and our beautiful Houston spring is upon us, it’s time to venture back out into our awesome city and have some fun! One great Houston event in March that’s fast approaching is The Makeup Show Houston. What is that, you might be wondering? Keep reading for all of the event details!

What Is The Makeup Show Houston?

As you know, Chic Lash Boutique has a number of makeup services, including bridal makeup, glam makeup, and semi-permanent makeup services, including microblading and ombre brows. We have a passion for all things beauty, and makeup is no exception! If you’re passionate about makeup and the beauty industry as well, then you should definitely consider going to The Makeup Show Houston. The Makeup Show is one of the largest professional makeup conventions in the world. It travels to five beauty industry hotspots worldwide, including: New York City, Vancouver, Amsterdam, Chicago, and, of course, Houston. The purpose of the convention is to bring together as many beauty professionals, companies, students, and hobbyists as possible to showcase the latest trends, techniques, products, and more. You do need to be at least somewhat involved in the beauty industry to attend this event. But, according to their website, this can range from product creators to photographers to social media influencers to artists and more, so you could very well fall into at least one of those categories.

Date and Time

The Makeup Show Houston spans over two days from March 21st to 22nd. It’s held at the Hilton Houston Post Oak.  

Things to Do

With an estimated attendance of somewhere between 20,000 and 50,000 people along with over 500 exhibitions, you’re going to have plenty to do at this huge Houston event! One of the most popular activities at The Makeup Show Houston is the lineup of big-name speakers. This year, the speakers include:

• James Vincent, Director of Education and Artistry for The Makeup Show and The Powder Group
• James Molloy, Senior Makeup Artist who’s worked for MAC, Rimmel, and founded his own makeup brand
• Danessa Myricks, Makeup Educator and Founder of Danessa Myricks Beauty
• Paloma Romo, Professional Celebrity Makeup Artist

And this is only a small sampling of the speakers at this year’s Houston event! These speakers will be offering lectures, presentations, and hands-on master classes and workshops that you can both observe and participate in. Besides speakers, you’ll also have the chance to visit hundreds of exhibition booths by brands, makeup artists, products, and more. You’ll get all of the latest information, trends, and products to stay on top of this fast-moving industry. Check out the gigantic floor plan here. You’ll be able to visit booths from top brands spanning specialities from hair products to makeup to skincare to beauty industry tools. You’ll also be able to observe their elite makeup competition. Some of the best local and national makeup artists are going to show exactly what they can do in this grand competition. You’ll see body art, special effects makeup, and more at this live competition that takes place on both day 1 and 2 of the event.
