Eyelash Extensions

Posted by Jennifer Ngo at April 30th, 2019

Just like any service done incorrectly, eyelash extension problems do occur and when done incorrectly, can ruin your natural lashes. Of course, when they are done correctly, they help beautify and inspire self-confidence! So in this article, we will give you some tips on how to keep them beautiful and show you what to avoid to maintain the integrity of your natural lashes while getting eyelash extensions. Avoid Inexperienced Technicians Make sure the technician working on you has at least a whole year of experience or has successfully completed at least 200 full sets and re-lashes. Time gives experience and growth. You do not want to be among the first few clients the new technician is testing her skills on. Get Lash Technician View Images of Your Extensions Have your lash technician take before and after photos each time you go in. This will allow you to properly evaluate the overall health of your natural lashes and their progression with eyelash extensions. This will also allow you to view if there are any lashes clumped together, if it’s dirty, or if they were placed on incorrectly immediately after the service. Brush Through and Clean Your Extensions A proper set of extensions will allow you to brush through easily with a mascara wand. If you are not able to brush through easily, there is a possibility the extensions are clumped together, which is not a good sign. Each natural eyelash should be isolated in order for you to brush through with ease. Brushing also helps filter and clean any debris on your lashes. In order to further maintain lash health, it’s very important that you clean your lash line and eyelids with a suitable eyelash extension cleanser. Avoid Pain and Discomfort When it comes to your eyelash extension problems, any pain or discomfort should not be tolerated. Eyelash extensions come in many lengths and thicknesses, allowing for a variety of combinations suitable for all different types of people. If you find your eyes are in pain, this may mean there is too much glue, you’re allergic to the glue, the lashes are too heavy, or the lashes were placed too close to the eyelid or placed incorrectly. If you are feeling any pain or discomfort, it’s important to go in and have the lash technician review and take pictures of your lashes to determine a correction plan. Eyelash extensions should not only make you feel great but they should feel natural and comfortable. Don’t settle when it comes to your eyes, make sure to avoid the above descriptions.
