Eyebrow Threading

When it comes to your eyebrows, there are a few options on how to remove unwanted hair. The two most popular salon options are waxing and eyebrow threading. We won’t discuss tweezing in this article as many are familiar with this option and it’s an easy at-home solution. Tweezing is also similar to threading except it’s slower and done with tweezers as opposed to thread. Threading has been around for decades and is considered one of the safest methods for hair removal. It’s all natural, chemical free, and gentle on the skin. Threading is, yup you guessed it: hair removal with a thread. The artist will intertwine the thread, rolling it along the hairs. This will catch the hairs and pluck them out. Threading is extremely precise as the artist can indicate each individual hair or row of hairs that needs to be removed. Waxing, on the other hand, involves heat and chemicals. It is also not as precise as the wax can spread upon pressure from the strip prior to hair removal. Waxing also takes up to three layers of skin along with the hair. This becomes a problem in clients with sensitive skin, clients taking hormonal medications, clients with diabetes, and clients on acne medications. Waxing can also cause brown spots if done improperly. Many clients have also reported allergic reactions to waxing due to the chemicals used in the process. For a clean, chemical-free, precise shape, we recommend threading, which will last about two to four weeks — about the same as waxing.
