One or the Other: Eyebrow Tinting Vs Microblading

While both processes serve to provide a sense of fullness and superior color for your eyebrows, it helps to know the differences between eyebrow tinting vs microblading. They are generally not considered in the same genre for salon services. Tinting is temporary and can be done with salon-grade dyes or with henna dye. Tinting colors the hairs that you currently have. There are some instances that the tint can also color the skin to provide a fuller brow. However, the tint on the skin only lasts a few days. Most clients come back every 4 to 6 weeks to get their lashes or brows tinted. Tinting is non-invasive and will typically only color the hairs it is applied too. The entire process for tinting usually takes anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes. Microblading, on the other hand, is semi-permanent to permanent. This means that once you have it, it will not fade or disappear for 6 months to two years. Microblading takes the process of getting a semi-tattoo. The artist uses a blade to cut into your skin and add pigment. The hair-like strokes made via the microblading process mimic natural hairs. Microblading will add fullness and depth to your current eyebrows. The initial microblading service can take up to 2 hours. During both tinting and microblading, the artist will select and mix dyes/ink pigments in order to best match your hair color or desired hair color (for tinting). Both services add color to your brows – tinting colors the hairs, while microblading adds pigment into your skin via a tattoo method. If you are unsure which service to get, we recommend starting off with the tint prior to jumping into microblading. This will help fine tune the overall look you are going for.
