Eyelash Extensions

Can you wear eyelash extensions with contacts? Yes! Eyelash extensions are typically safe to wear with contact lenses. If you have highly sensitive eyes, you may need to remove your contact lenses during your eyelash extension service but you will be safe to place them back in after the service. Most salons will have a sterile disposable case along with contact solution for you to remove your lenses prior to your service. If you are still nervous about having contacts in the same day as receiving your services, you may opt to wear glasses on the day of your service. Most clients have no issues or irritations wearing eyelash extensions with contacts after and during the service. If you tend to fall asleep during your service or have sensitive eyes, it is recommended to remove your contacts during the service. Ideally, you should never sleep in your contact lenses unless they are specified to be compatible during sleep. Taking them out with sensitive eyes is recommended because in rare cases the fumes from the eyelash extension glue can get trapped underneath your contact lens, increasing sensitivity and irritability. To maintain the longevity of your eyelash extensions, if you are a contact lens wearer, it’s important to not pull on or pull out your eyelash extensions when placing the lens onto your eyes. The best way to place your lens on with contacts is to open your eyes wide and gently place the lens directly onto your eyeball without pulling or interfering with your extensions. If you need to pull on your eyelid to help open up your eyes, pull down on the lower lid as opposed to the upper lid with extensions.
