What are the differences between eyelash extensions vs. mascara? While both beautify the eyelashes, they are definitely not one in the same. An eyelash extension look is completely different than a mascara look. The differences between the two are vast. Let’s start with eyelash extensions. The eyelash extension look is a very clean, natural, and uniform look. Since eyelash extensions are manufactured to be perfect and consistent, a uniform look is achieved with eyelash extensions. Each extension is placed on individually to each natural lash, further enhancing the natural look. Eyelash extensions are waterproof and weather resistant, therefore do not smear or cause any discoloration on your skin. With the copious amounts of styles, any look can be achieved with eyelash extensions. Now onto the mascara look. Mascara coats your natural lashes and volumizes and extends given the type of mascara. Mascara typically creates a clumpier look as the material binds together once out of the tube and onto your lashes. If you already have perfectly uniform and full lashes, the mascara look is not an issue but any inconsistency in your natural lashes will be exaggerated by mascara. Not all mascara is waterproof or weather resistant, therefore you will have to be conscious of external variables. Mascara is also meant to be taken off before bed as opposed to extensions. Mascara will not give an eyelash extension look. It is a little messy to work with, especially if you have prominent eyelids which could get stained by the mascara. For a clean, uniform, and flawless look, we recommend eyelash extensions. However, if you are a DIY person and considering eyelash extensions vs. mascara, then mascara, strip, or one-day clusters will also work.
