Removing Eyelash Extensions Properly is Key to Good Lash Health

Eyelash Extensions

Posted by Jennifer Ngo at December 20th, 2018

There are a handful of reasons why someone would consider removing eyelash extensions. The reasons could be: they were for a one-time event, they’re irritating, allergic reaction, wanting to change the style of your extensions, going from one salon to another, monetary reasons, or going back to natural lashes. The process of removing extensions can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on the number of lashes and amount of glue remaining. A professional grade remover is used during the process to dissolve the glue and break down the bond in order to have the extensions easily come off. How Eyelash Extensions Are Removed Your eyelash artist will start removing eyelash extensions by placing undereye pads to hold down your bottom lashes and for the remover and lashes to fall onto. The artist will then use lipgloss wands to evenly coat the remover onto your extensions. The remover will stay on for a few minutes to break down the glue. After a few minutes, the artist will use the lipgloss wands to roll off the extensions. The process should be painless, however, the remover can be slightly irritating for some as there are chemicals involved in breaking down the bond. Once your extensions are off, it is best to thoroughly rinse and wash your eyes to remove any residue.
